Pastor Paul Castle

Pastor Paul Castle was born in Phoenix, Arizona. He graduated from Hill McCloy High School in Montrose, Michigan in 1975. Following graduation, Paul married his high school sweetheart, Kristy Yost of Clio, Michigan. As a young man his dream was to own a trucking company, and have a fleet of trucks. After graduation from high school, he worked for General Motors-Chevrolet Metal Fab in Flint for 2 1/2 years before purchasing a Ford cabover diesel truck and becoming a trucker! But that was not God's long term plan for his life. In 1980, God called he and Kristy into full-time Christian ministry, and in 1981 they moved to Arizona to become the youth pastor at Starlight Park Free Methodist Church in Phoenix. Paul attended Arizona College of the Bible and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Bible and Pastoral Ministry in 1987. He worked as Associate Pastor and Minister of Music at Glendale Free Methodist in Glendale Arizona from 1983-1986. Paul was then appointed as Pastor to the Buckeye Free Methodist in Buckeye Arizona from 1986-1989. In 1989, Paul, Kristy and their four sons returned to Michigan where he was appointed as Pastor at Durand Free Methodist in Durand, Michigan, a part of the East Michigan Conference. There he served four years, and in 1993 he was appointed as Pastor of the Countryside Free Methodist Church in Sandusky, Michigan.

Paul and Kristy have four sons, Paul, John, Stephen and David. Paul is married to Diane (Salamon) and they have two sons and a daughter. Paul is a pilot and works for Masaba Airlines - a part of the Northwest Airlines network. John is married to Amanda (Boyer) and have 3 sons and a daughter, and is in the Airforce, currently stationed in New Mexico. Stephen is married to Heather (Metzger) and has completed his teaching degree at Spring Arbor University. He and Heather served 2 1/2 years in the Peace Corps in Africa. David will begin his second year of studies at Spring Arbor University this fall. When home, he plays the guitar/drums in the church praise band.

On April 28, 2007, Pastor Paul earned his Master of Arts Degree in Ministry at Indiana Wesleyan University.

Pastor Paul loves music and enjoys singing. Some of the music that he sings includes Elvis, country music legends; Garth Brooks, Randy Travis, George Strait, and some of the old-timers such as Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra. He has performed fund raising concerts, at the Fairgrounds and other locations as time allows. He also enjoys flying his Piper Cherokee airplane.
